Qutub Minar Monument Delhi City Trip

Delhi has many historical monuments; Qutub Minar is one of them. It also enjoys the status of UNESCO World Heritage sites. People who are visiting this place often ask the question that is why this tower is so big? What is the reason for building such a tall Minar? People give various reasons for this, but the most authentic reasons are only two, one is that it is built to commemorate the victory of this region. The other known reason is that it was built for the muezzin (one who calls for prayer) to call for prayers five times a day. Azan is made five times a day, so a muezzin had to climb all the stairs to reach on top and make a call for namaz.

This Minar is 234 feet high and known as the highest individual tower in the world. Other famous towers of the world are great Pagoda, leaning Tower of Pisa, but they are not as tall as Qutub Minar.

Much to my surprise I have seen someone writing that this Qutub Minar was started by some Indian rulers. When these rules won Delhi they made this tower rather started the tower. These claims don’t have any historical evidences and none of the agencies has proved it. Moreover, there is another tower in Afghanistan, which was built before Qutub Minar, known as Minaret of Jam, but Qutub Minar is more high and appealing.

You are going to visit Delhi this winter than plan for a Qutub Minar Delhi tourism package as this is a must see structure for you. It gives good competition to its rival the Taj Mahal, which is situated in Agra. This Minar was not built at a single stretch. Qutub-ud-Din Aibak could build only the basement of the tower and later on his successor added another story to this Minar. Later more stories were added and by Firoz Shah Tuglaq. Some historians suggest that this tower named after Qutub-Ud-Din-Aibak whereas some historians claim that this tower is named after Qutub-Ud-Din Bakhtiyar Kaki. He was a Sufi saint from Baghdad and had much influence on the king.

Qutub Minar is constructed with the use of red and buff sandstone. Qutub Minar has received damages multiple times by earthquake and was reinstated and renovated by different rulers. During the rule of Firoz Shah top floor of Qutub Minar was damaged, which was repaired by him. Sikandar Lodi, Major Smith and Lord Harding also repaired this tower.

Alai Minar

This unfinished Minar stands in the north of Qutub Minar, this was started by Ala-Ud- Din Khilji. He was also a great ruler and it is said that it was his ambition to build a Minar, which is two times bigger than the Qutub Minar. Because of his sudden death, his ambitious project could not be completed. You can see the unfinished work has reached the height of 25 m. In the Qutub Minar tour you will see many historical monuments like iron pillar, Alai Darwaza and mosque. You can also see the building of madarsa over there, which was built with the mosque.

Goa trip package is a good plan to visit Goa historical and natural world wide famous places. Goa state is the smallest state of the India which has only two district south Goa and North Goa. It is famous for beautiful beaches which spread in 125 KM long coast line on western coast of the India.
