Goa Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary Tourist Destination


Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary is a popular tourist destination to Birds lover. It is situated on Chorao Island which is existed in north Goa. It is only three kilometers far from old Goa city. This sanctuary was established in 1989 by Government of the Goa which is spread in total 440 acres area land. Tourists can visit here many type of the birds such as peacock, jack snipe, normal Indian bird, red knot, reef heron, parriot, bittem etc. There are numbers of the foreign birds also coming in this sanctuary every year. The sanctuary charge Rs. 10 from per person (both Indian and foreign tourists) while sanctuary charge Rs. 25 from per person; visit timing of the sanctuary is 6 am to 6 pm every day.

How can reach:- People can access via national highway - 17 which connects Goa to Pune, Mumbai and Kochi. It is only 9 kilometers distance from Goa state capital Panaji city. People can get it from Dabolim airport easily which is just 32 kilometers far. Its nearest railway station is Karmali while main junction is Margaon city.
